UnderwaterCompetition.com is jointly hosted by Jason Heller and Eric Cheng from DivePhotoGuide.com and Wetpixel.com. The site was created due to the overwhelming popularity of their first international photo competition, which was organized in 2005 in association with the Our World-Underwater show in Chicago.
Both Eric and Jason are professional underwater photographers with a passion for the marine environment and for progressing diving and underwater imagery through new media. Their commitment to the underwater imagery community is to provide the “Superbowl” or “Formula One” of competitions. The competitions offer participants chances to win prizes that range from premium dive travel packages to photo and diving equipment, DVD’s, signed books and more. Each competition is judged by a panel of professional photographers and magazine editors and supported by world class sponsors who are leaders in the diving and underwater photo and video industries.
15% of the proceeds from each competition go towards marine conservation efforts.

DEEP Indonesia is Indonesia’s first Diving, Adventure Travel & Watersports expo. The growth of the diving and water sports industry in Indonesia demonstrates a noticeable improvement in people’s lifestyles. This has also been observed in other sports industries across the country. Despite being a new player in sports industries, stability in Indonesia’s economy has increased people’s income allowing them to participate more and more in sports and healthy living activities. And with a population of 220 million people- which is the equivalent of the rest of South East Asia combined- the potential growth is enormous.
