When you generate a custom submission form, all filenames you should submit will be listed for you.
Video Format Guidelines
Videos can come from any source, but must be submitted as a video file using commonly-available codecs. A good rule of thumb is that your video should be able to be played via Quicktime, VLC Player (MacOS), or Windows Media Player.
- Acceptable file types are Windows Media (WMV), Quicktime (MOV), Audio Video Interlave (AVI), and MPEG-4 (MP4).
- NTSC, PAL, interlaced and progressive video all accepted.
- Preferred codecs are WMV9, DIVX, XVID, and H.264, but others are accepted. HDV is also acceptable, but in general, we prefer more compressed codecs.
- Judging will be done on large computer monitors, so submit videos of the highest possible resolution and quality. A minimum screen resolution of 640x360 pixels is suggested, with a maximum accepted size of HD 1080p.
- Judging criteria will focus mostly on video subject matter, content, and production, with video quality secondary.
- Video files should not exceed 250MB, and should be submitted only via web upload or on CD-ROM (see submission details below).
Suggested toolsets for outputting appropriate video:
- iMovie (Mac OS)
For 640x480:
Export->Quicktime->Compress Movie: Expert Settings->Share->Export: Movie to MPEG-4->Use: LAN/Intranet
- Final Cut Pro/Compressor (Mac OS)
- Quicktime Pro (Mac OS, Windows)
- Autodesk Cleaner (Mac OS, Windows)
- Sorenson Squeeze (Mac Os, Windows)
- Sony Vegas (Windows XP)
- Adobe Premiere (Windows XP)
- uLead Video Studio (Windows XP)
